The patient was a manual worker who fell at work and injured his right shoulder. He sustained an injury to his right acromio-clavicular (AC) joint. There was an obvious deformity over the right shoulder. Figure 1 below shows the dislocated right AC joint.

He underwent surgery to reduce the acromio-clavicular joint and was in a sling post operatively for 4 weeks. This surgery is done open and the dislocated clavicle is held down with the implants shown in figure 3. These implants do not need to be removed in the future. Following physiotherapy he returned to manual work 2 months post surgery.
